thanks man. the vomit tones appeal to me, portra is a pleasantly pessimistic film. also my color correction skills are lacking, but this seems somewhat close.
It's all about the message, you see. Colors and grain, fine aesthetics to discuss, but goodness look at what it means... here we are in the 21st century, with large bags, hats, and crooked stairs.

But look at them walk, alone, in the last, cold days of Winter -- what is the dark, where the photographer sits, without the light at the end of his gaze? What is the lonely patron without otherwise crowded streets? What of the rusted rivets and girders without Breakfast at Tiffany's?
Here, in the simplicity of your statement, in the opposite, you have the whole, and we have our answer -- what does it mean? The answer is always different shades of the same: Everything.
i saw her and her flowers. when she went up the stairs, i watched her go, you are right, towards the light at the end of the tunnel; it was clear at the time. under the tarp that shields the light of her fluorescent heaven, she was either late for a funeral and personally delivering the flowers, or received them, personally, and was taking them with her.
